Alice Dye

Pete Dye’s partner in design as well as in life, and the first woman president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. The island green at Sawgrass was her idea; so was the insistence on forward tees that let the course play for everyone. Her name on a card means the Dye philosophy — angles, danger, honesty — with the whole field in mind.
