Pete Dye

The architect who made modern American golf hard again. Working with his wife Alice from the 1960s, Dye brought railroad ties, pot bunkers, island greens and visual intimidation from Scotland to Indiana, then to Sawgrass, Whistling Straits and Kiawah. His courses look more dangerous than they are, punish the timid line and reward the golfer who reads the angle. A Dye course is a conversation about where you dare to aim.
